The metro Atlanta trading community

Trade the open.
Catch the sunset.

Atlanta runs on Eastern Time, the same clock as New York, so the opening bell rings at 9:30 a.m. right here. Day Trade Atlanta brings together futures traders from across metro Atlanta: when the markets are open, how to get set up, and people to learn with.

Nearly around the clock

Futures fit an Atlanta schedule.

Stock index futures such as the E-mini S&P 500 (ES) and E-mini Nasdaq-100 (NQ) trade almost 23 hours a day on CME Globex. That suits traders here who work a day job and want to trade the morning session, the afternoon close or the overnight markets.

The Micro contracts (MES, MNQ) are one tenth the size of the E-minis, which lets newer traders practise with smaller positions.

The toolkit

What local traders use.

Many futures day traders chart and place orders in NinjaTrader Desktop. Our sister site NinjaTrader Guru has free setup guides, and Affordable Indicators builds indicators, a Trade Copier for running several accounts at once, and prop firm tools for NinjaTrader.

Trade like it matters. Practise on a simulator first, size positions so one bad trade cannot hurt you, and never trade money you cannot afford to lose.
